About Us
Mission
To integrate athletics and academics to build discipline, leadership, and opportunity for African youth.
Vision
To build the infrastructure, opportunities, and environments that empower African youth to explore their potential and shape the future of the continent.
Purpose
To provide African youth with the tools, access, and support needed to discover who they are, develop their abilities, and contribute meaningfully to their communities and future.
Who We Are
At the African Athletic and Academic Bridge Foundation (AAABF), sports are just the beginning. We’re not here simply to build athletes. We’re here to unlock the full potential of African youth who have not always been given the space to grow, explore, and lead.
We challenge the belief that success must look one way. Too often, youth are taught to chase status over self. AAABF creates space for creativity, freedom, and purpose, reminding young people that they are allowed to lead with passion, curiosity, and vision, not pressure.
Our approach integrates academics and athletics driving personal development to ensure youth have the tools to excel both on and off the field. We invest in their brilliance, not to change who they are, but to affirm that they were always enough. This is about nurturing the leaders, thinkers, and creators Africa already has within its youth.
We are building pathways, resources, and opportunities so African youth can rise as the architects of their own futures and, ultimately, the continent’s future. Together, we can strengthen communities, cultivate talent, and empower the next generation to achieve what they were always destined to become.
Our Partners
We’re proud to align with those who are willing to give the gift of the game. If that sounds like you, whether you’re dreaming of a better Africa or actively contributing to its rise, let’s join hands.
Founders Message
Joice Thomas
Africa’s youth are the architects of the continent’s future. At the African Athletic & Academic Bridge Foundation, I am committed to ensuring that every young person has the tools, guidance, and opportunities needed to build that future with confidence. If African youth had the access, they would not only compete, they would lead, innovate, and shape the world.
Our vision is ambitious. In the next 5–10 years, I see a continent-wide ecosystem that nurtures youth through sports, academics, and creative development. Facilities will provide safe spaces for training, mentorship, and exposure to diverse programs from athletics and academics to music, media, arts, and beyond.
